Approach and types of therapy offered:

I value the therapeutic relationship as central to this work. I weave a range of interventions, to both allow space for process based insight and reflection; as well as,  to develop concrete skills to feel better.  My approach is often described as warm, encouraging, compassionate, and collaborative.

I see therapy as an emotionally held, free and protected space allowing for one’s continued growth and healing of their unique true self.

I like to lead with a person’s empowered strength and build on what’s working well for them.  Together we can work towards one’s intentions, reflect on what’s surfacing now, and explore new ways of coping and being.   I offer individual counseling for children, teens, and adults; as well as parent sessions and family counseling.

My orientation is Psychodynamic (attachment & relational).   I utilize interventions with Sandtray Therapy,  Mindfulness Therapy and somatic/body experiences, Child Developmental perspective, Play Therapy,  Contemplative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT– a mindfulness and emotion regulation based therapy incorporating CBT theory).  As relevant for one’s therapy, I incorporate the mind body spirit connection and one’s cultural and societal influences.
