Bio

I’ve been working in the mental health field for more than 20 years. I started my work in Vermont community mental health agencies and opened my private practice here in 1993. I received my B.A. from Syracuse University and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England, with a concentration in body/mind psychology. I also have taught parenting classes at Gifford Hospital in Randolph and was an adjunct professor for the Vermont College School of Nursing in psychosocial nursing.

Therapy information

I believe we have our answers within us, and that it’s my role to help clients discover those answers and make meaning of them. During this client-directed process, I focus on the positive strengths clients have and not just on areas in which they are experiencing difficulties. I help adults identify and change thought patterns that are standing in the way of their achieving life goals. I offer information and skills training in mindfulness practice and in regulating emotions. I help clients understand family behavioral patterns and see how those patterns might be affecting their current relationships. I also offer parental support and parenting skills when there are issues about their children.I also work with clients on medical and end-of-life issues.
