Sarah’s interest in counseling started with a passion to help teens during challenging times. Although she has been in different counseling and social work roles through the years, her interest in working with teens and young adults has not wavered. She received her Masters in Social Work degree in 1994 from Tulane School of Social Work in New Orleans, LA. Sarah has both a license in clinical social work and school counseling. She has received advanced training in Social Thinking and also is a certified EMDR therapist.
Sarah has worked as a social worker for children and youth in foster care, a school-based counselor in elementary, middle and high schools, and has provided outpatient mental health counseling to children, youth and their parents. She has also taught social work and psychology courses at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. She currently teaches Introduction to Psychology at Norwich University.

Sarah uses her understanding of attachment theory, child and adolescent development to inform her work. With more in depth training in executive functions of the brain, mindfulness, and Social Thinking, Sarah focuses on helping her clients feel more competent and comfortable with social situations.
