I am a Vermont licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in EMDR therapy for trauma processing and counseling for addictions. I am approved for the Impaired Driver’s programs (formally CRASH) in Vermont and New Hampshire. My formal training includes a certificate in Mediation & Conflict Management and 30 hours in Divorce Mediation from Woodbury College (now Woodbury Institute at Champlain College), a BA degree in Psychology from Johnson State College, and an MS degree in Community Mental Health/Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University with a specialty in Adult Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling. I also have post-graduate training in a wide range of mental health issues and therapies. I have worked in the mental health field since 2007, in private practice since 2013, supporting people of all ages, from all walks of life, and with a broad range of issues. I have worked in community mental health agencies providing office-based and home-based services, in substance abuse and co-occurring treatment programs, and in the school system providing mental health and substance abuse counseling.
I would characterize my approach as empathic and compassionate, yet straightforward. My treatment approach is strength-based and generally solution-focused, and I use a wide variety of therapeutic strategies based on your individual needs to provide a unique counseling experience.
