Types of therapy offered & philosophy My style is eclectic. That being said, creating a strong therapeutic relationship is my first goal. My aim is to help people find and nourish joy in life. I draw on training in a variety of modalities: expressive, cognitive / behavioral, gestalt, and psychodynamic. My orientation is first and foremost grounded in the belief that all relationships are part of a greater whole, and that finding a sense of meaning is essential to healing. I bring an interest in Buddhist psychology and mindfulness meditation. I am also a working writer and musician and my work embraces the healing power of art.
Background I received a Masters degree in Social Work from California State University, and have been licensed as a Clinical Social Worker since 1992. My work of over twenty years in mental health has included family planning, community mental health, acute psychiatry, inpatient and outpatient medical facilities, and private practice. I relocated to Vermont from California in 1998 and received an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. I’ve been in private practice in Vermont since 1999.
